SAP Consultant

"I wanted to get a better work-life balance - I managed to do this at alogis AG."

[Translate to English:]

What did you do before your time at alogis AG?

Up until 2005, I studied for a diploma in business IT at the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Wildau. Afterwards, I completed a 24-month trainee programme in controlling. Here, I was able to gain basic, valuable experience and later even managed a project to introduce an ERP system. The motivation to move to alogis was for private reasons. I wanted to create a better work-life balance - I have managed to do that at alogis AG. Still now, the moderate travel as part of our projects and the pleasant company culture have won me over.

Why have you decided to become an SAP Consultant/SAP Developer?

After my trainee programme, I wanted to make a career change. In my former position, I recognised that I couldn’t develop any further. The changing requirements and tasks in the project business at alogis AG give me the challenge I had hoped for. I learn something new in every project.

How did you come to alogis AG? How long have you been here?

A few years ago, a former fellow student recommended alogis AG as an employer to me. I saw straight away that it was the right fit. I have been at alogis since November 2008.

What position do you work in and what are your current tasks?

I work in the CRM & Order Management Division as a project manager in a team of ten consultants and developers. I currently work in a project looking at the topic “Introduction of shopping processes based on SAP SRM UI5”. Here, typical tasks I take on include project controlling, conception, customising and test coordination.

What does your typical working day as a consultant/developer look like? Do you have to travel a lot?

My current customer is based in Berlin, so I can easily work solely with the customer on site. It makes sense in this case. For other customers, travel is limited as we can work on almost everything remotely from our Berlin office. Each working day is different. Depending on the progress of the project, I work on customer-specific requirements and draft concepts of the particular project. If these are agreed with our customer, I support the implementation, tests and go-live. During the project, I coordinate the project resources as project manager.

What do you like most about your job?

Because it involves a major customer, who I have supported for years, there are always new tasks to do. The customer never runs out of big wishes and I enjoy making them come true! What I find exciting are the rollouts in other countries, the wide variety of SAP technologies and modules.

What advice would you give to new employees?

To be able to see something new, always try and think outside the box.

Why do you work at alogis?

I just really enjoy it! The compatibility between family and career, the pleasant working atmosphere and the exciting, varied tasks become real.

What do you say to your friends about alogis?

With just over 60 employees, alogis AG is quite a small company where employees feel valued.
