PLM & Production - all our SAP competence for information management in the product product lifecycle

    PLM & Production
    Components become products ...

The Product Lifecycle Management & Production Division deals with data and processes related to product development. In addition to managing a diverse range of master data and its changes, it also includes product planning and managing production and assembly. The division also focuses on all production-related aspects of supplier and quality management, as well as warehouse and supply processes through to maintenance.

The competences of the PLM & Production division are in the following industries and topic areas:

    Product data management

Construction and development have a significant influence on all subsequent production and logistics processes. It is therefore even more important to have well-structured organisation of data storage, efficient and user-friendly IT tools to maintain the data and clearly defined processes to create and change it. If you find your challenges within the following key points, then please get in touch.

    Product and change management

    • Maintenance of material data, change statuses and parts lists (parts lists cock-pit/drawing geometry statuses (ZGS))
    • Start-up management/start date control by CEM, PEM (change monitor for control per workflow)
    • Approval procedure for changes
    • Documents/photo management with/without content server
    • CAD integration/visualisation based on geometric data (SMARAGD/team centre)
    • Batch management and traceability
    • Variant configuration/mass maintenance of object dependencies
    • Automatic formation of material variants and colour components
    • Use of classification to store information on materials, equipment, parts list items, or-der codes, etc.
    • Provision of central documentation interface (FDok/VeDoc)
    • Phase-out management/single part analysis/scrapping
    Production planning and control

    Production planning and control

In order to adequately inform all process participants - from programme planning to production and assembly - and to make the required resources available within the agreed time, diverse planning and control activities are required, which are not possible without comprehensive system support. For many years now, we have been supporting our customers in the follow-ing topics. We would be delighted to do the same for you.

    Production planning

    • Preliminary vehicle planning incl. equipment planning
    • Model mix and sequence planning
    • Work schedule monitor with drag-and-drop assignment of materials
    • Production schedules with overlapping validity intervals
    • Cycle planning/line balancing/assembly scheduling/workforce planning
    • Start-up management, pilot-production handling
    • Component availability check

    Production supply

    • Precise sequencing of workstation and vehicle-related order picking
    • Route management, tugger train formation
    • Bottleneck management/missing parts handling
    • Automatic small parts warehouse connection, Kanban, eKanban
    • Replenishment control for supermarkets/call button
    • Vehicle, programme-dependent warehouse optimisation

    Production and assembly

    • Make-to-order production, batch production, series production
    • Visualisation of assembly works
    • Monitoring of start date
    • Automation of (reporting point) confirmation, scrap postings
    • Automatic component clearing
    • XML connection of third-party systems
    • Scanner-based end-number recording
    • Flexible management of vehicle completion activities
    • Printing of vehicle operation sheets (via AdobeForms)
    Supplier management

    Supplier management

A low vertical range of manufacture, high rates of change and the value of purchased parts require an intensive exchange of information with suppliers. This affects the technical aspects of components and their packaging, but also delivery quantities and dates, since costs in warehouse and logistics processes must be minimised. Without adequate IT and electronic data exchange, this is scarcely possible. We are happy to help you with these and similar tasks.

    • Initial sample development/ECM/eSEP
    • Delivery schedule processing with industrial trucks (delivery breaks, zero call-offs)
    • JIT/JIS call-offs from production orders according to VDA 4916
    • (Third-party) subcontracting/eDL connection
    • Consignment and third-party order processing
    • 1-/2-stage goods receipt based on VDA4913
    • MEDM - quantity difference notification, quantity receipt difference notification
    • LEDM - load carrier difference notification
    • Packing data sheet test
    • Supplier assessment, delivery reliability
    • Inventory control/annual inventory
    Consolidation/deconsolidation

    Consolidation/deconsolidation

To minimise logistics costs, the global networking of suppliers and production works requires an appropriate bundling of goods flows. They must be packaged in a manner suitable for transport and the duty must be paid. Functions for cross-system tracking and tracing create transparency for the sometimes long transport routes. Our experience and expertise can be purchased; give us a call.

    • Container stowage
    • Packing planning
    • Customs clearance (MIC/Assist), export declaration
    • Air-freight handling
    • Web-based tracking and tracing
    Quality management

    Quality management

Quality management supports the product development process from purchased parts and in-house production through to assembly and the delivery out to customers in the “field”. For safety-relevant parts, all permutations are possible, from random visual checks to 100% 2-person checks. Planning, the results recording function and results management all need ap-propriate IT work tools.

    • Operator self-assessment with dynamic testing
    • Error management with photo documentation
    • Handling monitor for inspection planning
    • Reworking control based on reports
    • 2-person check of safety components
    • 8D report
    • Debit notes, company complaint with PDF attachment
    • Action from vehicles and aggregates
    Maintenance

    Maintenance

Maintenance shares the same fate as IT in terms of general appreciation within the company: On first glance, it just costs money without being directly involved in the value chain. It is only when something stops working that the two areas come to the management’s attention. Par-ticularly in companies with a high level of investment intensity, underestimating the signifi-cance of preventative maintenance can quickly lead to huge problems and associated down-time costs. We offer our support in these topics, among others.

    • Management of technical objects (functional location, equipment, etc.)
    • Asset management including assessment of environmental aspects (VAwS)
    • Reports
    • Portal for creating reports and orders
    • Maintenance planning (maintenance plans, strategies and cycles)
    • Orders and feedback
    • Service handling
    • Mobile maintenance with tablets
    • Product development: see products

In order to be able to analyse processes in close collaboration with the customer, recognise optimisation potential and use it through software support, knowledge of terms and special features in the relevant industry is essential. We have gained extensive knowledge and varied experience from projects in the following industries.

    • Automotive manufacturers
    • 1st-/2nd-tier suppliers
    • Mechanical engineering/rail vehicles
    • Cross-industry: Maintenance
